August 15th, today, commemorates the day in 1947 when India gained independence after nearly 200 years of British rule. It is usually celebrated with flag-hoisting ceremonies and cultural programs in the state capitals. The Prime Minister's Speech at the Red Fort is the major highlight!!
Due to the very high terroist alert, I spent the day inside my apartment!!

Did you realize the prime minister's speech was at 7:30am?? Who does anything at 7:30am in India?
